Women in mining still face discrimination in the working environment and there is still continuous rates of sexual harassments, violence and rape. Till today mining companies have not made efforts to apply safety measures for women who work underground, so that they can eliminate chances of them being victims of sexual abuse and violence.

Women in mining face challenges everyday due to male stereotypical behavior and social nuances. We need to work together to educate our society, this will transform behaviors and improve the working conditions in the mining industry to be a safe place for a woman.
