Tomorrow the country will mark nine years since the Marikana massacre shocked the nation, left dozens dead, and left many more with life-long scars. It was on the 16th of August 2012 that 34 mineworkers were killed by police bullets during a protracted strike over salaries at the Lonmin Platinum Mine.
